Aim Watthan Artisans
Cambodia (WAC) is a worker-run cooperative training
Cambodian artisans with disabilities in handicraft
production and woodcarving. Our goal is to improve the
living standard of people with disabilities in Cambodia
through training and employment.
History & Philosophy WAC
was formed in June 2004 by former students of the
Maryknoll/Wat Than Skills Training Centre for Landmine
and Polio Disabled who decided to form a cooperative and
continue the work originally begun by
Maryknoll.
Our artisans receive fair wages and
benefits, with profits shared by the staff and producers
as well as being re-invested into staff development and
training. Our products are designed and produced on site
at our workshop in Phnom Penh and conform to very high
standards.
