Aim
SABORAS – which means “generosity” in Pali – is a non-governmental organization that aims to empower communities, particularly vulnerable families, through knowledge, skills, spiritual values and resources in order to improve their living standards.
History & Philosophy
Through the SABORAS Handicraft Center in Battambang Province, graduates from other sewing training projects can access work experience and generate income for themselves through the production of products such as kromas (traditional scarves) and shirts, which are sold in hotels, markets and shops in Battambang and Phnom Penh. The center also supports a local woman’s weaving group in Ksach Poy village to provide income opportunities for poor widows and preserve traditional weaving methods.
