Aim Peace Handicrafts and
Silks is an independent cooperative of landmine and
polio disabled persons producing high quality handmade
products for export around the world.
History &
Philosophy Peace Handicrafts and Silks was
formed in February 2003 by a group of producers who
received training at the Wat Than Skills Training Center
for Landmine and Polio Disabled.
Peace
contributes to social development by providing training
and employment opportunities for landmine victims, polio
disabled persons and the underprivileged. Their training
has enabled them to become self-supporting, confident
artisans who see themselves as individuals with
abilities that contribute to the development of
Cambodia.
All Peace products are made from
traditional hand-woven silk, an ancient process
untouched by industrial development. Peace prizes the
high-quality of its products and each is carefully
handcrafted by highly skilled artisans. Peace was
awarded the 2004 UNESCO “Seal of Excellence” for
Handicraft Products.
