History &
Philosophy
FunkyJunk was conceived and enabled by Carpe Diem Travel, a non-profit tour operator that provides direct and tangible benefits to the destinations they visit.
The owners of Carpe Diem Travel spent a number of years designing and implementing this project with the aim of providing sustainable income for a group of local people without high investment in technology or equipment - and helping make their environment more pleasant at the same time.
By creating a self-sustaining enterprise we use best business practice as a means of improving peoples' living environment, while helping them to gain a source of income and a sense of self-worth.
